GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina man has been charged in the shooting deaths of two people earlier this month.
The News & Record of Greensboro reports that 27-year-old Chinh Tiet Nguyen is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the Sept. 12 deaths of Ricky Phayaxay and Kimberly Woods.
Greensboro police say Nguyen was arrested on a federal probation violation Sept. 13 after he cut off an electronic bracelet from a federal agency. Police are unsure if he was wearing the bracelet at the time of the shootings.
Nguyen had been considered a person of interest early in the investigation.
No motive for the shooting has been given.
It’s unclear if Nguyen has a lawyer.
