PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix say a teenager has been arrested in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of a man during a truck theft.
They say the 17-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday and been booked into the Durango Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of second-degree murder and theft of means of transportation.
Police say the teen - whose name isn’t being released - is accused of running over 34-year-old Mario Cordova with his own truck on Sept. 9.
Authorities believe the teen was in the process of stealing a pickup truck and driving away when Cordova realized what was happening.
Cordova ran into the roadway and was struck.
He was found critically injured in the middle the roadway and he died of his injuries two days later at a hospital.
