BENTON, Tenn. (AP) - A hospital in Tennessee says it will stop accepting patients this weekend.

Copper Basin Medical Center tells WRCB-TV that it will stop accepting patients Sunday morning. Financial issues had temporarily closed the hospital in May. A page on GoFundMe was started to raise the $100,000 needed to keep the hospital running. More than $5,000 was raised.

The hospital’s website says the next 45 days are its most critical period for survival.

WRCB-TV previously reported that inpatient services at Polk County’s only hospital were temporarily closed as it was beginning to scale back services. CFO Tim Henry said at the time the hospital did not have the money to continue services. More than 15 nurses were let go from positions with some still waiting for paychecks.
