SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts man convicted of stabbing another man to death two years ago faces sentencing this week.

A Hampden County jury found Ricardo Valentin guilty of second-degree murder Friday in the death of 21-year-old David Guasp. Valentin is set to be sentenced Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Guasp, of Springfield, was found suffering from a stab wound on Aug. 29, 2015. He died at the hospital.

Valentin’s lawyer argued at trial that his client stabbed Guasp out of fear during a confrontation between the two men.
