GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Officials say construction on a new federal courthouse in South Carolina should begin next year.

The federal government is building a new 10-story building that will contain the courthouse and other federal offices in downtown Greenville.

The Greenville News reports Congress approved the $105 million for the new building in 2015.

Construction will begin in summer 2018 on the site across from the Greenville County courthouse with crews hoping to finish the project in 2021.

The new federal courthouse will have seven courtrooms and nine judge chambers.
