NEW YORK (AP) - Two New York City patrol officers have been injured after a vehicle speeding away from a crime scene crashed into their police cruiser.
New York Police Department officials say two other officers were on foot in a Brooklyn neighborhood Wednesday night when they heard gunshots and witnessed a car speeding down the street. The officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver ignored the officers hand signals.
A short time later, the sedan crashed into a police cruiser that was on routine patrol.
The NYPD says the police vehicle had a green light when the crash occurred.
The two officers are in stable condition at a hospital. The two passengers of the sedan, 19 and 29, were also injured and taken to a hospital. They haven’t been charged.
The investigation is ongoing.
