JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a 66-year-old man at a Joplin home.
The Joplin Globe reports that officers responded Tuesday night to a report that a man had shot himself in the chest accidentally. Andy Slimp was found in a bed in the basement of his home and was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Joplin police Capt. Trevor Duncan says other people were in the house at the time of the shooting, and officers found several guns at the scene. Duncan says the shooting remains under investigation.
