PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A federal grand jury in Providence has indicted two Florida men with drug charges in connection with the seizure of more than 19 kilograms of cocaine allegedly shipped to the state from Puerto Rico.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says Rinaxo Rufino, of Miramar, Florida, and Gabriel Concepcion, of Kissimmee, Florida, were charged Thursday with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.
Federal prosecutors say the cocaine had been shipped from Puerto Rico to homes in Providence, Woonsocket and Central Falls. They say the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) intercepted multiple packages containing cocaine in August. The men were arrested that same month.
Messages were left Saturday for attorneys representing Rufino and Concepcion.
