WHITE LAKE, N.C. (AP) - Three people have been killed in a wreck in North Carolina when a car ran under a tractor-trailer rig.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck happened Wednesday morning near White Lake in Bladen County.

Trooper G.M. White says a car driven by 56-year-old Angela Pate Vernam of Fayetteville ran a stop sign and under a rig carrying with chickens.

Vernam and her passengers, 20-year-old Antonio Joshua Rousseau and 43-year-old Kendall Ronald Joiner, both of Fayetteville, were killed in the crash.

The truck driver was not hurt.
