BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted a 24-year-old Bothell man on charges of sex with a minor and production of child pornography.

KCPQ-TV reports Thomas Mahoney was indicted Thursday.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says he is scheduled to be arraigned later this month.

According to records filed in the case, Facebook notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about sexual conversations and photos being exchanged between an adult and child.

Authorities in California located the minor and officers in Seattle say they traced the internet address to Mahoney.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Mahoney allegedly traveled to California three times in 2016 and 2017 to have sex with the 14-year-old victim and that he made videos of the sexual contact.

It wasn’t immediately known if Mahoney has a lawyer.
