MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (AP) - A man is jailed on a murder charge following the death of his toddler son in the New York City suburbs.
Mount Vernon Police Commissioner Shawn Harris said at a press conference that Lloyd Scott has been arrested in “the death of one of God’s angels.”
Mayor Richard Thomas said the little boy’s mother requested that the name of the “2-year-old saint” not be publicly disclosed.
Harris says the mother came home from work Monday night and found the child unconscious in his bed.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of his death.
There was no immediate information on an attorney who could comment on Scott’s behalf.
Thomas asked that New Yorkers keep the child’s loved ones in their prayers.
