SUMTER, S.C. (AP) - Five people have been arrested in the shooting death of a teen at an apartment complex in South Carolina.
Sumter police spokeswoman Tonya McGirt said in a news release that 21-year-old Jaelon Markell Jackson of Columbia turned himself in Wednesday night.
Jackson is charged with murder, attempted armed robbery, conspiracy and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Seventeen-year-old Josh Goodman of Dalzell was shot Sunday afternoon. Goodman was taken to Palmetto Health Toumey in Sumter where he died.
McGirt said Goodman was shot during an attempted robbery.
Three other people face the same charges: 20-year-old Shanice Octavia Bradley of Sumter, 18-year-old Diontre Brown of Blythewood, and 21-year-old Dequan Lamont Washington of Sumter.
A 16-year-old teen is charged as accessory.
It was not known if the suspects have lawyers.
