SEATTLE (AP) - Authorities say a Seattle area man was critically injured when he was attacked by two men while trying to help a homeless man who was being harassed.
The King County Sheriff’s Office says two intoxicated men came out of a restaurant in Burien, south of Seattle, Wednesday night and began harassing a homeless man, pushing over his bike and cart containing his belongings.
Spokesman Sgt. Ryan Abbott says a 39-year-old Burien man tried to intervene and the two men turned on him, striking him with a machete and a chain.
The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A spokeswoman said Thursday that the man’s condition has been upgraded to satisfactory.
The men, who are 25 and 30, were booked into King County Jail on investigation of assault.
