SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - The driver of a trash truck is unhurt after the vehicle fell into a large hole in Springfield.

Authorities responded to a call around 4 a.m. Monday and found the truck in a 10-foot-deep hole at an apartment complex in eastern Springfield. Authorities originally thought it was a sinkhole, but the Springfield News-Leader says it was later determined to be a collapsed sceptic tank.

The truck was lodged in the hole for several hours before a tow truck was able to remove it.

The owner of the apartment complex hopes to have the hole filled within days.
