BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - Big Bear Sports Center has announced it is selling the fixtures and office furniture from its Billings store, which has been closed since a Nov. 4 when a man broke in, leading to a 10-hour standoff that damaged the building and its inventory and ended with the man’s death.
Big Bear announced in February that it was selling its Great Falls store to another retailer, but company officials declined to comment on plans for the Billings store until it settled insurance claims.
The Billings Gazette reports Big Bear announced on its Facebook page that the fixture sale would run from April 25 through May 5.
Big Bear’s website says it was founded as a surplus store in Billings in 1959 and became an outdoors and sporting goods store in the 1970s while adding its Great Falls location.
