FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota couple who’s had two stillborn children is hoping to inspire others to share their stories at the Fargo Marathon next month.

Heidi and Mike Greenwood said they’re keeping their babies’ memory alive at the upcoming marathon with “The Angel Baby Mile,” WDAY-TV reported. The mile-long stretch will have a tunnel of more than 100 balloons with the names of miscarried and stillborn babies.

“It’s going to be something special for us and the community and all the people involved,” said Mike Greenwood.

They hope to raise awareness about miscarried and stillborn babies. Heidi Greenwood said she’s enjoyed meeting people, who have never shared their stories, but would like to be a sponsor and receive a balloon.

“People, they feel uncomfortable talking about it, they don’t know how to approach it, or they pretend it didn’t happen,” she said.

Mike Greenwood said the marathon mile will give “a voice to the voiceless, so to speak.”

“It is really special for us and we think about them nonstop, and this is just another way to share them with the world,” said Mike Greenwood.
