MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Officials in Vermont and Quebec are discussing transportation ideas such as an electric car charging corridor and the restoration of Amtrak Vermonter passenger rail service to Montreal.

Vermont Agency of Transportation Secretary Joe Flynn, Premier of Quebec Philippe Couillard, Minister of Transport Andre Fortin, and other Canadian delegates and members of the business community discussed the projects after touring Montreal’s Electric Vehicle Show on Friday.

They also discussed the development of secure pre-clearance facilities for passenger rail service to Montreal’s Central Station; a study related to Quebec’s auto route 35 between St. Jean sur Richelieu and U.S. Interstate 89 at Highgate Springs; and two infrastructure projects on the Vermont-Quebec border.
