Police: Man fatally shoots wife at salon, kills himself

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (AP) - Lee’s Summit police says a man fatally shot his wife inside a hair salon and later died after shooting himself.

Police say the woman, 45-year-old Chantille Truss, was shot early Friday at the Sola Salon Studios in Lee’s Summit. She worked at the salon, which was open and serving customers at the time of the shooting.

The suspect, 51-year-old Paul Truss, allegedly went into the shop, shot his wife and fled.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s office says the man’s vehicle was later found near Longview Lake and he died inside the vehicle of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Police said a domestic dispute apparently prompted the shooting.
