BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) - A Massachusetts prosecutor is holding a safety training program designed to help faith leaders and staff members protect their houses of worship from potential threats.

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan is encouraging clergy, lay leaders, ushers and others to attend the safety training, which will include discussions about active shooter and improvised explosive device threats as well as emergency operations planning.

Ryan and the Middlesex Community College Program on Homeland Security are hosting the program at the school’s Bedford campus on Monday.

There will also be a panel discussion with the executive director of the Anti-Defamation League’s Boston office and the chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
