MACON, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia sheriff says a parolee arrested for drug possession and traffic offenses is the suspect they sought in the murder of two innocent bystanders during a convenience store robbery - including an elderly woman felled by a stray bullet while standing in her kitchen.
Twenty-three-year-old Devantae Lajerian Lundy is accused of killing Marlon Jermaine Williams and Ann Kathleen Leonard in Macon on April 14.
The Macon Telegraph cites a Bibb County Sheriff’s statement that says the 44-year-old Williams died in a spray of bullets as he fled the store, and the same spray traveled 315 yards and struck the 75-year-old Leonard dead in her kitchen.
Sgt. Linda Howard says Lundy is now charged with murder and armed robbery. He was previously convicted of aggravated assault.
