CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A sheriff’s deputy in South Carolina who was suspended last year when he was arrested on a domestic violence charges has returned to duty.

Charleston County Sheriff’s spokesman Roger Antonio said in a news release Tuesday that Deputy Preston Capers has returned to duty.

Capers had been arrested April 30, 2017 and charged with pressing his wife into a wall. Antonio said the charge has been dropped at his wife’s request and his record has been cleared.



Antonio said Capers has been on leave about three weeks and has received anger management counseling.
