YELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas woman has been sentenced to 20 years of probation after pleading guilty to permitting abuse in connection to the death of her toddler.

The Baxter Bulletin reports that Anastasia Weaver was sentenced in accordance with a plea agreement on Wednesday.

Weaver’s two-year-old daughter died in May 2016 after suffering from severe injuries. Police began investigating the girl’s injuries after they received a call about an unresponsive child at Hillside Apartments in Flippin.

Weaver’s then-boyfriend, Cody Allen, was convicted in the child’s death and is serving a life in prison sentence.

Prosecuting Attorney David Ethredge says Weaver received probation because she “cooperated fully with law enforcement and was not present when the abuse took place.”
