GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A Great Falls man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man shot in early April died as a result of his injuries.

The Great Falls Tribune reports that 42 -year old William Patrick Rose III was arrested at his house Friday afternoon.

Rose remained in custody Sunday after Cascade County Attorney Josh Racki said his bail was set at $500,000.

Rose has reportedly claimed self-defense in the April 8 shooting of Steven Jacobsen. He was initially charged with assault with a weapon.

Those charges were changed to attempted deliberate homicide after investigators learned Rose left several phone messages for Jacobson’s girlfriend threatening to kill the 57-year-old man.

With Jacobsen’s death last Tuesday, he now faces a charge of deliberate homicide.
