GREENVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A leaky roof has caused a ceiling tile to fall on an employee in a Mississippi library, and now city officials have declared an emergency to get the roof fixed.

The Delta Democrat-Times reports the rainwater problems have been growing worse the past few months at the William Alexander Percy Memorial Library in Greenville.

Until the roof is repaired, the second floor will be closed. It includes the server room that houses the library’s electronic equipment.

The second floor also has a reading lounge, a writers’ exhibit that is popular with tourists and a collection of books about Mississippi or by authors from the state.

Elizabeth Alexander, a manager at the library, says employees will go to the second floor to fetch books for readers.
