CARO, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in Tuscola County executing a search warrant in connection with the disappearance of a 33-year-old man have discovered human remains.

The county’s sheriff’s office has not said if the remains are those of the man who was reported missing last week but they say another man has been taken into custody.

The Bay City Times reports that the sheriff’s office was in the process of serving several search warrants as part of the investigation of the missing man when they found the remains on Saturday in Vassar Township.

Sheriff’s Detective James Hook declined on Sunday morning to provide any details to The Associated Press about the remains, how the person might have died or any information about the man taken into custody.
