MIAMI (AP) - A 9-year-old boy has been airlifted to a hospital after he was burned while playing with a flare gun.

WTVJ-TV reports that Miami-Dade Police say the boy found the flare gun Sunday night while he was cleaning a boat with another boy near Country Walk. Police say the two began to play with it and that’s when one boy was burned. He was airlifted to a hospital and is in stable condition.

WTVJ say police are working to determine if it was an accident.
