IRMO, S.C. (AP) - Police say three teens died in a wreck that followed a chase in South Carolina.

Irmo Police Capt. Courtney Dennis said in a news release officers tried to stop a speeding car around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The driver lost control and hit a tree.

Dennis said six teens between the ages of 13 and 18 were in the car.

Highway Patrol Lance. Cpl. David Jones said none of the teens were wearing seat belts.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said 15-year-old Reshad Daloamir Davis of Columbia died at the scene. Fifteen-year-old Travis Lamount Green, Jr., and 13-year-old Travion D’Monte Green, both of Columbia, died at local hospitals.

The other three teens were hurt.

Dennis said one of the teens had a gun. The car had been stolen from Columbia.
