CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Prosecutors have dropped a drunken driving charge against a woman involved in a wreck that killed an off-duty police officer in South Carolina.

Prosecutor Don Sorenson said the charge against 29-year-old Whitney Danielle Brooks was dropped Thursday after tests for drugs and alcohol were negative.

Brooks had been charged in the Feb. 15 wreck that killed North Charleston officer Ryan MacCluen. The 31-year-old officer died after troopers say Brooks turned in front of his motorcycle in Summerville.

A trooper said Brooks failed several parts of a field sobriety test.

The Highway Patrol says the wreck is still under investigation.
