LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a minivan that fled from a traffic stop crashed and caught fire on a Los Angeles interstate, killing a woman and seriously injuring three other people inside.
The California Highway Patrol says police in Culver City pulled over the Honda Odyssey for a moving violation early Thursday - but as officers approached the van, it sped off.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle until they came upon the scene of the single-vehicle crash near an off-ramp of northbound Interstate 405. Three people were pulled from the minivan, which had erupted in flames. They are hospitalized with serious injuries.
A woman died at the scene.
Culver City police Lt. Aubrey Kellum says officials later found out the minivan was stolen.
