CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Police say a Florida man has died after he drove the wrong way on a causeway in the Tampa Bay area and his car flipped upside down into the water.
The Clearwater Police Department says in a news release that 26-year-old Scott Anthony Wolf of Estero died Sunday morning. It says Wolf was driving a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire east in the westbound lanes on the Courtney Campbell Causeway when the crash happened about 4 a.m.
Authorities said Wolf lost control of the vehicle, which wound up in Old Tampa Bay next to the causeway bridge. Police said Wolf was rushed to a Tampa hospital where he died.
The crash remains under investigation.
