Michael Cohen’s “truth fund” hits $50,000 in less than 24 hours on Wednesday.

Mr. Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis created the GoFundMe page to raise money for the embattled lawyer’s legal fees late Tuesday night.

Michael decided to put his family and his country first. Now Michael needs your financial help — to pay his legal fees,” the description reads.

The page has clocked some $50,302 in just the first 14 hours. The goal is currently set to $500,000.

“He and his family are suffering,” Mr. Davis said on MSNBC, “Michael is asking for anybody interested in helping him to go to this website.”

Mr. Cohen pled guilty to campaign finance, bank fraud, and tax evasion on Tuesday. The charges stem from payments he made during the 2016 election to cover up allegations made by Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal and Stormy Daniels.

Mr. Cohen’s GoFundMe page follows a similar attempt to gather money for former FBI agent Peter Strzok. It raised over $440,000 in just over a week and is one of the site’s top fundraisers.
