SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) - Police say a woman was shot in the thigh on the Santa Monica Pier.
Police responded to the west end of the pier Thursday morning after a call about a gunshot victim.
Santa Monica police Sgt. Rudy Flores says the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. The wound was not life-threatening.
Police say she told officers she was shot by a male accompanied by a female, but they also say the victim is uncooperative.
The west end of the pier was closed for the investigation and divers searched the ocean near the pier for a possible weapon.
No arrests were reported.
The pier is a draw for tourists who come to eat, ride its landmark Ferris wheel and rollercoaster or enjoy the view of Santa Monica Bay.
