WALTERBORO, S.C. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man for in a death in South Carolina.
Colleton County Sheriff’s Lt. Tiger Benton told news outlets that deputies arrested 43-year-old Jelani Rondell Aiken of Walterboro around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
Aiken is charged with murder in the death of a man in Walterboro late Thursday morning. The victim’s name has not been released. Officials have not said how the man died.
Benton said deputies were called by someone who said they had seen a man run from the area.
There was no record of an attorney for Aiken yet.
