WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say three people, including a toddler, were killed after fire ripped through a triple-unit house in northeastern Pennsylvania

The blaze was reported early Monday at a house in Hanover Township, outside of Wilkes-Barre. The Luzerne County coroner tells WBRE News in Scranton that a husband and his pregnant wife were also killed.

The coroner identified the three as 27-year-old John Crossley, 27-year-old Julia Crossley, and 2-year-old Riley Ferrara. All three were staying in the same unit. Officials say several other people also escaped or were rescued from that apartment.

A fire department official says no one in the other two units was injured. He says the cause is still under investigation but the fire appears to have started in the kitchen of the unit where the fatalities occurred.
