HOLLY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) - A police officer was hurt in a chase this morning that ended with a crash in Georgia.

News outlets reported the chase occurred around 1:30 a.m. Monday north of Atlanta.

The chase ended with a crash and the suspects’ van caught fire. At least two men ran from the van. Police are still looking for them.

The officer was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with minor injuries. His name has not been released.

Holly Springs police said the chase started when an officer tried to pull over the van for a traffic violation.



The chase ran about 15 miles down I-575 from Cherokee County into Cobb County, where troopers and other officers joined.

The crash occurred near I-75 and I-575. Officers said they found several stolen items in the van.
