DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state Supreme Court is mulling an appeal by a man serving life in prison for the murder-for-hire killings of a Delaware couple.
Aaron Thompson’s attorney argued Wednesday that prosecutors at his trial misrepresented evidence and improperly tried to get jurors to sympathize with codefendant and prosecution witness Joshua Bey. Thompson’s attorney also argues that a statement that Bey, a drug dealer and former FBI informant, gave to police should not have been allowed into evidence.
Thompson and Bey were among four men charged in the 2013 deaths of Joseph and Olga Connell. Joseph Connell’s former business partner, Christopher Rivers, is serving life in prison. Prosecutors say Rivers planned the killings to collect on an insurance policy.
