KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A 36-year-old man charged with collecting child pornography was arrested after a standoff in a storage container across the street from a Kansas City police station.

Federal prosecutors say Eric Hacker was indicted Tuesday on 10 counts of possessing, receiving and attempting to distribute child pornography between March and June 2017.

When officers went to arrest him on Wednesday, he ran into a storage container in eastern Kansas City.

Police say Hacker lives in the container, which is on a vacant lot across the street from the police department’s Central Patrol Division.

Hacker surrendered about seven hours after the standoff began.
