FOSTER, R.I. (AP) - Rhode Island State Police say two people died when a pickup truck veered into oncoming traffic and hit another truck in Rhode Island.

Police say the crashed happened early Monday on Route 6/Danielson Pike in Foster.

Police say 72-year-old Ronald Desrosiers was heading east on the Danielson Pike when his car went across the double yellow line and struck another pickup truck that was heading the other way.

Both Desrosiers and the driver of the other truck, 53-year-old Vincent Spooner Jr., were killed.

No one else was in the cars when the crash happened.

Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
