AVON, Mass. (AP) - A 70-year-old man and his adult son were killed and a child was injured in a Christmas Day house fire in Massachusetts.

The fire in the single-family home in Avon was reported at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Avon Fire Chief Robert Spurr says the younger victim was found dead inside the home while the older man was found in a bedroom and taken to the hospital, where he died.

Spurr says a young boy was hospitalized with burns to his feet.

Officials did not release names but members of the church they attended say the older man ran a Haitian market in Brockton and his 28-year-old son helped.

The state Fire Marshal’s office says there were no working smoke alarms in the home and the cause appears to be accidental.
