LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - A married couple in Las Cruces is accused of trying to use stolen credit cards they say were found on the side of the road.

Las Cruces police say 45-year-old Boonmai “Lee” Irvin and 32-year-old Ruby Valdez were arrested Tuesday.

The owner of the credit cards was alerted that someone was trying to order a pizza for home delivery and $124 worth of products at a smoke shop.

Police obtained consent to search the couple’s apartment and found the credit cards inside a freezer.

Valdez is jailed on suspicion of fraudulent receipt of a credit card while Irvin is accused of fraudulent transfer of a credit card.

The two are being held without bond at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.

It was unclear Wednesday if they have lawyers yet.
