ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Two people who pleaded guilty in the hammer killing of a woman in Albuquerque have been sentenced to prison after testifying against another defendant.
The Albuquerque Journal reports that 27-year-old Stephanie Stepp was sentenced to 24 years for second-degree murder and other crimes and that 31-year-old Joshua Taramasco was sentenced to eight years for kidnapping.
Both had pleaded guilty and had testified in the trial of William Paul Alexander, who was convicted of first-degree murder and other charges in the 2015 killing of Tiffany Boyer.
Police have said the others believed Boyer played a role in the death of their friend, Robert “Machete Bob” McGuire.
Stepp and Taramasco were sentenced Monday in state District Court. Alexander and another person convicted in the case await sentencing.
