BELLEVILLE, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey township police say one of the two puppies stolen from their owner’s home early last week has been recovered.

The Record reports the two 3-month-old puppies, named Sandy and Danny, are black lab and pit bull mixes. Belleville Police Det. Sgt. John McAloon says they were taken from their foster home on Jan. 30.

Foster owner Tiffany Justine Cabrera says Sandy was returned after she was bought from a man selling the puppy on the street.

Police say the man who sold Sandy is being pursued as a person of interest. Danny was still missing as of Monday.

Cabrera says a reward will be offered for information that leads to the return of Danny.
