PASSAIC, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to robbing five banks and attempting to rob a sixth during a monthlong spree in 2016.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 27-year-old Quentin Morales, of Passaic, robbed banks in Kearny, Kenilworth, Linden, Clifton and Union, and attempted to rob one in Elizabeth between June and July 2016. The Record reports he took more than $9,000.

All of the robberies took place at a Wells Fargo bank except the attempted robbery at a Capital One bank in Elizabeth.

Morales was arrested in August 2016. He was on the FBI’s Most Wanted List for bank robbers at the time.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 14. Each bank robbery charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
