A state prison in Utah remains on lockdown a day after three inmates were injured in a fight in an area designated for gang-affiliated prisoners.

Utah Department of Corrections spokeswoman Maria Peterson said Thursday that prison guards recovered weapons made by the inmates following the altercation Wednesday night at the Uinta facility in Draper.

She says eight inmates initiated the fight. One was flown to a local hospital and two others were transported by ambulance with unspecified injuries. She says all three were reported in stable condition on Thursday.

The Department of Corrections law enforcement bureau is investigating the incident in conjunction with the Unified Police Department in Salt Lake City.
