WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man accused of leaving the scene of a fatal crash has pleaded guilty.

The Valley News reports 38-year-old Jeremy Potwin, of Bethel, pleaded guilty Thursday to leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, gross negligent operation resulting in death and driving with a suspended license. Potwin had previously pleaded not guilty.

Vermont State Police say Potwin crashed into a guardrail in Royalton last year. Police say 38-year-old James Arbuckle died and another passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Authorities say Potwin fled the scene but was later arrested at his home.

Sentencing will be scheduled in the coming weeks.
