WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) - Police have arrested a Connecticut man in connection with a series of armed robberies in the state as well as in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Authorities say 32-year-old Zachary Provost, of Waterbury, was charged with Hobbs Act Robbery at his arraignment Thursday. The Hobbs Act allows federal prosecution if the crime involved interstate commerce.
Police say Provost robbed a Middlebury gas station and a Dunkin’ Donuts inside the gas station Dec. 8 before turning to the Thomaston Savings Bank.

The bank teller told officers the man put a pistol on the counter before passing a note demanding cash. Police later determined the weapon was a BB gun.
Officials say Provost was arrested Dec. 9 while police responded to a woman overdosing at a motel. Authorities revived the woman.
