LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say another of the 79 firearms stolen from a Lincoln store in 2007 has turned up in another state.

Public Safety Director Tom Casady told the Lincoln Journal Star that police in Sioux City, Iowa, found the handgun among several guns in the home where they believe 26-year-old Javier Cheron was fatally wounded Jan. 10. It’s not clear whether the handgun was used to kill Cheron. Another man has been charged with a weapons crime.

The 79 guns were stolen Oct. 1, 2007, when men broke into a Scheels store and left with the weapons within three minutes.

Police recovered 30 of the guns the following day and arrested the burglars, who eventually were prosecuted.

Casady says 55 have now turned up in several states and even Mexico.
