CHICAGO (AP) - A northern Illinois utility company says it is accepting applications for customers who might be eligible for assistance with bills.
ComEd officials say the utility has $10 million in annual grants for those facing financial hardships and disconnection of services. The program was created under a 2011 law.
The company says they helped almost 16,500 customers last year, including seniors, veterans and non-profit groups.
Chicago-based ComEd serves about 3.8 million customers in northern Illinois.
