CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A federal prosecutor in West Virginia says eight people have been indicted on charges stemming from an alleged drug distribution operation in Harrison County.

U.S. Attorney Bill Powell says the 30-count indictment returned by a grand jury this month alleges a conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl and marijuana.

Powell’s office says seven of the eight people named in the indictment are from Clarksburg, West Virginia. The other defendant is from Penn Hills, Pennsylvania.

The case was investigated by the Greater Harrison Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and the West Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
