SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) - South Jordan police say a teen is in hospital after jumping onto the hood of a car in a carjacking attempt.

According to South Jordan police, the teen jumped onto a woman’s car on Sunday as she was driving away.

KUTV-TV reports the teen gripped onto the hood and the windshield as the woman tried to drive away.

Police say the teen eventually got off of the vehicle and ran into a home where people he knew live.

Those people helped police take the teen into custody.

Police say the teen was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
